About San Miguel School
What is San Miguel School of Washington?
The San Miguel School seeks to help disadvantaged Latino boys achieve their biggest dreams. Students enter this middle school program for an adventure in faith, academic rigor, discipline and profound caring. Everyone involved with San Miguel is committed to providing students with an education that is Lasallian, faith based, academically excellent, service oriented and socially nurturing.
Why did the De La Salle Christian Brothers and St. John’s College High School found the San Miguel School of Washington?
Research shows that Latino males are the most educationally at-risk population in the United States. Of all demographic groups, they are the most likely to drop out and the least likely to earn a college diploma. What’s more, boys tend to lag behind girls on the middle school level. By offering an intensive program in the middle school grades, we can equip students to achieve in high school and beyond. Without San Miguel, such success would be a long shot. |
